What Is CEREC Technology?

CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) is a modern dental solution that uses digital scanning and CAD/CAM technology to create precise, custom crowns in a single visit.

It eliminates the need for traditional impressions and temporary crowns, offering a faster and more comfortable experience.

CEREC:

  • Requires removal of a more healthy tooth structure
  • Made using a mold filled with a sticky goop, which you must hold in your mouth until it hardens, the traditional process can be uncomfortable.
  • A temporary restoration, which will last a few weeks, is then attached to your tooth using weak cement.
  • Your crown will be prepared in an off-site dental lab
  • An appointment a few weeks down the road will be scheduled to have your mouth numbed, your temporary pried off and your finished restoration placed.

TRADITIONAL RESTORATION:

  • Requires removal of a more healthy tooth structure
  • Made using a mold filled with a sticky goop, which you must hold in your mouth until it hardens, the traditional process can be uncomfortable.
  • We will attach a temporary restoration to your tooth using weak cement, and it will last a few weeks.
